Give as a Individual
As an individual, when making your gift to the Ephesian Fund, you will be asked how you would like your money to be allocated.
How does it work?
You can choose to give to:
(a) your local church or
(b) another church that has endorsed the Ephesian Fund Basis of Faith (please check that your chosen church can endorse the Ephesian Fund Basis of Faith before giving), or
(c) the ‘general’ fund.
Any unallocated gifts or gifts to the ‘General Fund’ will go where the need is greatest among the churches that the Ephesian Fund serves, to encourage and equip evangelicals in the Church of England to keep mission and evangelism as a permanent priority.
You can either give as a ‘guest’ or set up a regular direct debit with a Stewardship Giving Account or a Philanthropy Services Account.

Still have questions?
When using Stewardship
In order to make a gift to our ‘general fund’ – i.e. (c) above – please:
select the ‘general fund’ option in the drop down menu
In order to allocate your gift to a specific church/initiative – i.e. to (a) or (b) above – please:
select the ‘specific parish/church’ option in the drop down menu and provide further details in the ‘message’ box. Please ensure that you have confirmed with the vicar/PCC that they are able to receive Ephesian Fund donations (can endorse the Ephesian Fund Basis of Faith) before you make your gift. If gifts cannot go to your chosen church they will be assigned to the ‘General Fund’ and distributed by the Ephesian Fund trustees through the grant allocation process.
Examples of where gifts cannot go to your chosen church are as follows:
- Incumbent/PCC not able to endorse the Basis of Faith
- We are unable to get in touch with the incumbent/an appropriate office-holder after three or more attempts.
Notes: All eligible donations will be boosted by 25% Gift Aid, so the Ephesian Fund receives more each time you give. The Ephesian Fund is administered by Stewardship. See more on Stewardship’s administration fees.
Gifts made to your local church/PCC via the Ephesian Fund can only be used to support churches/ministries endorsing the Ephesian Fund Basis of Faith and additional declarations (because of the charitable objectives of the Ephesian Fund). These gifts are not therefore available for payment of parish share unless it is assured that it will be used to support parishes endorsing the Ephesian Fund Basis of Faith and additional declarations (e.g. via the Ephesian Fund). If you choose to give to the general fund, gifts will be allocated by the trustees to support mission and evangelism in churches around the country endorsing the Ephesian Fund Basis of Faith and additional declarations.
