Give as a PCC / Church

How Does it Work?

Churches can pay their voluntary parish share (also called ‘common fund’, ‘free will offering’ (FWO) or ‘diocesan quota’) via the Ephesian Fund.

The advantage of paying it this way is that the Ephesian Fund will require dioceses to allocate giving directed through the Fund to an incumbent/minister and/or a PCC that support the CEEC basis of faith

The Ephesian Fund enables churches to add their voice to the gathered voice of concern and also provides the opportunity for churches/PCCs to build partnerships with other orthodox churches in your dioceses.

For more information, download the Ephesian Fund Briefing Paper for PCCs (PDF 110kb).

There are two types of parishes:

Net receivers – money is credited back to them. Net receivers might consider using the Ephesian Fund to add their voice of concern to others regarding Living in Love and Faith by choosing to use EF.

Net Contributor parishes – surplus giving (anything over ministry costs/reasonable central costs i.e. safeguarding) restricted to be given to support net receiver parishes that sign up to the CEEC basis of faith and additional declarations.

PCCs/Churches can also make a gift to the ‘general fund’ of the Ephesian Fund for the trustees to allocate to orthodox ministries within and beyond the donor’s diocese.

There are two simple steps to giving as a PCC through the Ephesian Fund.
